Allowed VS Not Allowed Dumpster Material Guide
What Can You Put In A Dumpster?
- Allowed Items -
General Household Items
You can dispose of common household junk like furniture, toys, clothing, and non-hazardous trash. These are everyday items typically found during cleanouts or moves.
Construction Debris
Materials like wood, drywall, roofing shingles, flooring, and tile are all accepted. Great for home renovation or remodeling projects.
Electronics & Appliances
Small appliances, televisions, and other non-hazardous electronics can go in the dumpster. Be sure to check for restrictions on refrigerators or items with refrigerants.
Landscaping Debris
Heavy materials like rocks, gravel, and dirt are allowed, but be aware of weight limits on the dumpster. These are perfect for landscaping or outdoor renovation jobs.
- Not Allowed Items -
Food Waste
Perishable food and organic waste can attract pests and create odor issues. Please dispose of food scraps through standard trash or composting services.
Household Chemicals
Items like bleach, pesticides, and cleaning agents are classified as hazardous and cannot be placed in a dumpster. These should be taken to a local hazardous waste facility.
Paint
Wet paint, stains, and varnishes contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment.
Propane Tanks
Propane tanks and gas cylinders are strictly prohibited due to explosion risk. Take these to an approved disposal or recycling center for proper handling.
